Texting with Momma is a full time job

Have you heard of the twitter account Texts from last night?

These are texts that people send to their friends, usually while drunk, and then later realize how absurd they were in the clarity of the morning.

The texts then get tweeted, starting with the area code of the text.

These tweets are HILARIOUS you guys.

Observe:

See?  Hilarious.

Well, tonight Hubby and I were shopping at Walmart when I got what I can only assume was a drunken "text from last night" from my mother.

Only, it was tonight, not last night.  And she doesn't drink.

Voila:

Yes, perhaps we should.

  2. Awesome. If my dad sent texts, I imagine they would be similar to these.

  4. ps: There's a comedian that does a good bit about messaging back and forth with his teenage son for about a year thinking LOL mean "Lots of love". It ends with his sister messaging him that she's getting divorced and him messaging back "LOL" . . . HAH!

    1. So true. And yes I've heard that! Ellen also does a funny bit showing bad texts. Love it.

  6. This is great. My dad prefaces every phone call to me with a text saying, "I am going to call you now." Seems a bit unnecessary, but I guess thanks for the heads up?

  9. Oh dear. I love it! My parents started texting me a couple of years ago and they can be hilarious. Now, I'm the kind of person who likes to use normal sentence structure and spelling in my texts, but sometimes the messages are so overly formal it's as if they're writing to the queen. But then the next day i'll get one with a horribly botched attempt at "text speak" that I'll have to text them back to translate. They're getting better little by little... My favorite part is when I'll be with my mom and she'll ask me to text her friends for her - which got a little uncomfortable when they were all reading 50 Shade of Gray....

    1. Our friend (known as Moe on this blog) says that about his dad too! Long essays. Ha! Momma prefers short forms and abbreviations that mean nothing to anti e but her! Hubby's dad just sends one word.
